MADISON, Wis. – Today, Ron Johnson backed a GOP agenda that would “raise taxes on as much as half of the country,” including Wisconsin seniors; a new study shows 32% of Wisconsinites would see a tax increase under this plan. Johnson, who called the agenda a “positive thing,” has a long record of standing against proposals that help working Wisconsinites, while supporting policies that help his wealthy donors.

“Once again Ron Johnson has reminded Wisconsinites that his top priority is pushing a self-serving agenda that gives the ultra-rich a free pass while demanding working families and seniors pay more in taxes. Wisconsin voters are fed up with Johnson’s willingness to sell them out and are going to hold him accountable for his toxic agenda in November,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Senate Communications Advisor Philip Shulman said.

Johnson, who has said that the top 1% in America already pay their “fair share” of taxes, previously changed the 2017 GOP Tax Scam Bill in a way that benefitted himself and his biggest donors by hundreds of millions of dollars.
