MADISON, Wis. –  Over the past year, the American Rescue Plan – which passed without the vote of a single Republican in Congress – has provided critical support for schools, rural health clinics, hospitals, and public safety initiatives.  

This week, Wisconsinites are reading about how President Biden, Governor Evers, and Democrats in Congress are allocating these federal funds to deliver for communities across the state.  

WTMJ Milwaukee: More than $50 million in ARPA funds dedicated to addressing public safety across state

“On Tuesday, Governor Tony Evers was in Milwaukee to announce a more than $50 million investment of ARPA funds for public safety across the state. Twenty million has been earmarked for Milwaukee County to expand courthouse operations, support the mental health treatment court, address reckless driving, and tackle the backlog of court cases from the pandemic.” 

Up North News: One Year In, Pandemic Assistance Addresses an Affordable Housing Crisis in Many Communities 

“As the American Rescue Plan marks its first anniversary, the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced new grants for Wisconsin’s Ho-Chunk and Lac du Flambeau tribal communities to assist with rent, mortgages, and utilities in order to expand and retain access to safe and affordable housing.”

WXPR: Forest County Potawatomi Community investing in housing and healthcare with major infrastructure projects

“Right now, there are nearly two dozen applicants on a waiting list for tribal housing within the Forest County Potawatomi Community. This includes people who currently live in the area and those looking to move to Forest County. The tribe is hoping a major investment into housing will help. It recently received $4.2 million from Wisconsin’s Neighborhood Investment Program which is funded through the federal American Rescue Plan Act.”
