MADISON, Wis. – Today, the July jobs report showed the U.S. added 528,000 new jobs last month – beating expectations and delivering the lowest unemployment rate in fifty years. This report follows a year of historic job growth across the country and a record low unemployment rate in Wisconsin, all thanks to President Biden, Governor Evers, and Democrats in Congress supporting Wisconsin-owned businesses and creating good-paying jobs.
In response to this morning’s job report, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Julia Hamelburg released the following statement:
“Today’s job report shows the significant progress of President Biden’s economic plan to build an economy that works for working people. Thanks to strong leadership from President Biden and Democrats across the country, the national unemployment rate is tied for its lowest rate since 1969 and the country has recovered all of the jobs that were lost during the pandemic.
“There is more work to be done, and this November, Wisconsin voters have a clear choice: While Democrats remain laser-focused on creating jobs, supporting Main Street businesses, and making significant progress for working families, Republican politicians continue to vote against cost-saving measures and play political games at the expense of working families.”
