From Banning Abortions to Raising Taxes on Almost Half of the Country, the GOP’s Extreme Agenda is Wildly Unpopular With Voters

MADISON, Wis. – It’s no surprise that the Party of Trump is pushing an agenda that would be an absolute disaster for Wisconsin. For reasons that Republican politicians cannot even explain themselves, the GOP agenda hinges on raising taxes on almost a third of Wisconsinites, sunsetting Social Security and Medicare, and stripping Americans of their access to abortion care.

While leaders in the Republican Party, including the Chair of the Republican National Committee and Wisconsin’s own self-serving Senator Ron Johnson, have embraced this MAGA extremism with open arms, voters across the country are rejecting their plans:

  • Navigator Polling: “Republican Senator Rick Scott’s Economic Plan Remains Deeply Unpopular, Even Among Republicans”

  • Bloomberg: “A broad majority of Americans in a new poll say abortion should be legal if the mother’s life or health are at risk or the pregnancy is a result of rape, a potential political risk for Republican lawmakers backing bans with no exceptions.”
  • Axios: “Survey: Over 60% of adults say most abortions should be legal in U.S.”
  • Marquette Law School: “Poll: 61% of Wisconsinites say abortion should be legal in all or most cases.”
