MADISON, Wis. – Today, as hard-working Wisconsinites are filing their taxes, Wisconsin Republicans want to talk about anything except the fact that the GOP has backed an agenda that could raise taxes on almost one in three Wisconsinites – including teachers, pipefitters, and firefighters. While Republican politicians are pushing an agenda that would hike taxes and raise health insurance premiums for working families, Democrats like President Biden and Gov. Evers are cutting costs, lowering income taxes, and asking billionaires to pay their fair share.
“Today, on Tax Day, working families across our state deserve to know that if Republican politicians get their way, almost one in three Wisconsin taxpayers would see their tax rates increase,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Julia Hamelburg. “While Democrats are working to lower costs and cut taxes, Republicans continue to push an agenda that favors billionaires over business owners.”
