MADISON, Wis. – In an sworn affidavit filed to the Wisconsin Elections Commission by the Tim Michels campaign in response to a challenge against their nomination signatures, Michels acknowledges that his campaign circulated and created the nominating petitions which failed to follow the state’s election integrity laws.

Wisconsin Democratic Party Executive Director Devin Remiker released the following statement:

“Tim Michels, in a sworn statement, has admitted what we already knew: his campaign used nomination papers that failed to follow the law, leaving only 345 valid signatures. Apparently millions of dollars couldn’t buy Michels a competent enough campaign operation able to comply with the absolute basics of the law. The WEC should act accordingly to uphold election integrity laws and hold the Michels campaign accountable.”
