MADISON, Wis. – Tim Michels has not been particularly forward in telling Wisconsinites who he is, but he is making it very clear the dangerous and radical bills he would like to see passed if he becomes Wisconsin’s next governor.

At his announcement event, Michels referenced recently vetoed bills, saying [3:35],There’s a bunch of bills that were put in front of Tony Evers, and he vetoed them all. I’m asking the legislature to reintroduce those bills. And I will sign those on day one […]”

Here is a reminder of a few of the bills that Governor Evers’ vetoed. Would Tim Michels sign all of these as governor?:

  1. Allow loaded firearms on school grounds and in places of worship
  2. Restrict access to abortions
  3. Make it more difficult for eligible Wisconsinites to vote, particularly seniors and people with disabilities
  4. Break up Milwaukee Public Schools in order to create more bureaucracy
  5. Allow parents to sue schools
Governor Evers is the line of defense against bills that will take Wisconsin backwards and has worked hard to protect abortion access, freedom to vote, and common sense gun safety.

“If Tim Michels has his way, he’ll turn the clock back on Wisconsinites,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Hannah Menchhoff. “Whether it’s limiting freedom to vote or restricting access to reproductive health care, a Republican governor would do irreparable damage and worsen divisions in our state. These candidates will say anything to show they are the farthest right in the bunch, and Tim Michels is no different.”
