[Milwaukee, WI] – Last night, Milwaukee was struck by yet another horrific act of violence as a sheriff’s deputy was shot following a traffic stop. Tragically, this is only the most recent event in a two-year crime spike, as the city once again set a record for homicides in 2021.

Meanwhile, Tony Evers is missing in action. After his performative press conference on violence prevention in Milwaukee last October that was interrupted by gunfire, Evers has been mum on rising crime while Wisconsin communities continue to suffer.

“Throwing arbitrary dollar amounts on a press release doesn’t constitute a public safety strategy,”
said Republican Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Anna Kelly. “Tony Evers has failed to address rising crime, and Wisconsin communities are paying the price.”
