This week, Lieutenant Governor Barnes visited small businesses and dairy farms in western Wisconsin in a half-hearted attempt to appeal to rural Americans. Barnes wants voters to believe he’ll represent America’s Dairyland and Main Street shops at the center of every Wisconsin community, but the policies he supports says otherwise:
- Barnes fully backs the Green New Deal, a deal that would cost Wisconsin dairy farmers $2.5 billion, or $2,000 per cow, and result in $200 million in losses to farmers.
- He supports repealing the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, including a tax cut that Ron Johnson fought leadership in his own party for to help 95% of American businesses compete against big corporations.
- Barnes advocated for the recent D.C. Democrat bill that will raise taxes on those making as little as $20,000 a year, and add an army of 87,000 new IRS agents to go after hard working Americans and small business owners.
“Lt. Gov. Barnes is willing to visit dairy farms and Main Street small businesses and lie to them about his policies. The truth is, Barnes wants to partner up with the ‘Squad’ in DC to fundamentally transform America with policies that will crush family farms and small businesses and raise taxes on nearly all Americans. Wisconsin deserves better.” – Republican Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Mike Marinella
