Recent reports show that nearly two-thirds of all Americans are now living paycheck to paycheck in the Biden Recession. As record-high inflation continues with no end in sight, and AAA warning higher gas prices could be just around the corner, consumers are feeling the pinch. But Democrats like Mandela Barnes want to make this economic crisis even worse with higher taxes and more spending.
The latest Barnes-backed spending boondoggle would increase the tax rate paid by nearly all taxpayers, including a $17 billion tax hike on taxpayers earning less than $200,000. Barnes is also a staunch supporter of the $93 trillion Green New Deal, raising the income tax to as high as 70 percent, and has said he wants to “stymie capitalism.” All that is on top of the $1 billion in higher taxes he supported in Gov. Tony Evers’ most recent budget.
