MADISON – Representative Mark Born (R – Beaver Dam) released the weekly radio address on behalf of Wisconsin Legislative Republicans.
This week, we heard Governor Evers’ plan for Wisconsin: more taxes, unsustainable spending, and a massive growth of government.
It’s disappointing that, instead of focusing on fixing his dysfunctional agencies in disarray, Governor Evers proposed creating a slew of new programs.
Instead, Republicans will focus on being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars.
We will prioritize sending more money back to taxpayers, and investing in our state’s priorities.
Our budget will support public safety by giving more resources to our criminal justice and correctional systems.
It will also address areas where students are falling behind, by providing targeted supports for K12 education.
We will invest in workforce development through talent attraction and retention initiatives, as labor shortages continue to be one of our state’s largest challenges.
We will look for sustainable solutions that provide our local governments with more resources while encouraging innovation at the local level.
Republicans will craft a budget that works for all Wisconsinites.
