Madison, Wisconsin, April 4 – 350 Wisconsin Action is pleased that Wisconsinites made their voices heard and voted to elect Climate Champion Judge Janet Protasiewicz to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Protasiewicz has demonstrated a commitment to protecting the right to fair elections, a livable environment, and a just, equitable future for all. Going forward, the grassroots climate justice organization looks forward to keeping climate and justice as active parts of the political conversation through the 2024 elections.
John Greenler, Executive Director of 350 Wisconsin Action, says, “It is no secret that Wisconsin’s 2023 Supreme Court election was going to be vastly important to upholding democracy, not just in Wisconsin, but on a national level. Judge Protasiewicz had made her commitment to justice evident and the people of Wisconsin recognized that. We thank each voter in Wisconsin for taking the time to make their voices heard.”
Cherie Thunder, 350 Wisconsin Action’s Political Organizer, says, “we were humbled and inspired by the deep commitment of our volunteers in this election, and we’re proud of the impact we were able to make. Volunteers and election workers for 350 Wisconsin Action worked hard to encourage Wisconsinites to vote; we hosted phone banking sessions, canvassing events, and postcard writing parties. We look forward to sustaining this momentum for justice into the 2024 election cycle, and we remain committed to seeing climate champions elected at every level of government.”
350 Wisconsin Action mobilizes grassroots power to change hearts and minds, laws and policies, and humanity’s massive systems to make transformational progress toward environmental justice and solving the climate crisis by 2030. For more information, visit 350wisconsinaction.org.
