MADISON – Today, Wisconsin Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski announced her endorsement of Senator Melissa Agard as the next Dane County Executive.

“I first got to know Melissa as a leader with a statewide organization committed to uplifting pro-choice women.  I’ve watched Melissa get things done as a local representative to leading as the Senate Minority Leader. As a working Mom, she understands the struggles families face and will bring that important voice to keep Dane County moving forward,” said Secretary of State Sarah Godlewski.

“Secretary of State Godlewski has been a tireless advocate for our community; fighting for economic opportunity, a clean environment and access to the ballot box. She leads with integrity and a genuine desire for equity and social justice. This endorsement is a testament to our shared values and the trust she places in my ability to continue leading Dane County toward a better tomorrow. I am honored to have her support and look forward to having her join us on the campaign trail,” said Senator Melissa Agard.

Senator Agard was born and raised in Dane County and is the mother of four sons. She currently represents Wisconsin’s 16th Senate District and served as Senate Democratic Leader from November 2022 until December 2023. Prior to her time in the State Senate, Agard served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and on the Dane County Board.

Earlier this year, Dane County Executive Joe Parisi announced his intent to resign in 2024. The general election for Dane County Executive will be held on November 5th, 2024. For more information about Senator Agard and her campaign, please visit www.melissaagard.com.
