Hi folks! Welcome back to Tammy Tuesdays, our weekly update email on Tammy’s work and the big fights she’s taking on for Wisconsin families. We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Read below for highlights of what Tammy worked on this week:

Winning Big for Wisconsin: Two Years of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law

Strong bridges, safe roads, reliable internet access, and clean water aren’t red or blue issues. These are basic necessities that Wisconsinites expect and deserve. That’s why Tammy was proud to work across the aisle and pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

Two years after the passing of this historic legislation, Wisconsin has received over $5.6 billion to kickstart over 300 new infrastructure projects. Some of these projects include repairs to Wisconsin’s major airports, lead pipe replacements, power grid enhancements, improvements to our roads, bridges, and waterways, cleaning up legacy pollution in our Great Lakes, and statewide broadband expansion. And while we’re working on all these new projects to strengthen our state and national infrastructure, more good paying Wisconsin jobs have been created because of the inclusion of Tammy’s Buy America rules. Tammy is proud to see how the investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law have improved the day to day lives of Wisconsinites and is excited to see how these projects continue to move our state forward.

Supporting Our Veterans

Wisconsin is the proud home of servicemembers, veterans, and military families who have made incredible sacrifices for our country. Our veterans put their lives on the line to keep us safe and free, and Tammy believes that they deserve everything we can provide. That’s why Tammy is working hard across party lines to do right by our veterans and make sure they have the care, good paying jobs, and community support that they have earned and deserve.

This week, Tammy’s CVSO Act passed the Senate with unanimous bipartisan support. This legislation would establish a grant program for County Veterans Service Officers (CVSOs) to operate, the first time these critical resources would receive federal funding. By helping expand this outreach program, veterans will get the help they need to cut through red tape and access their much deserved benefits. Tammy knows how much veterans sacrifice for our country and wants to ensure that they are able to receive the benefits they earned when they return home.

Standing Up for Wisconsin Workers & Industries

Tammy knows that Wisconsin’s workers and industries are some of the best in the world. From our paper products, engines, tools, and ships to beer, brats, cheese and more, everyone knows that in Wisconsin, we can make anything and we make it well. That’s why Tammy is always going to work hard to stand up for our proud Wisconsin workers and job industries, no matter how long or who she has to take on to do it.

Recently, Tammy won big for our workers after the Securities and Exchange Commission included key provisions from her bipartisan Brokaw Act in a new rule. The updated rule will increase transparency in a company’s investors and rein in predatory hedge funds to prevent a tragedy like Brokaw – a predatory hedge fund closed down the historic paper mill in Brokaw, Wisconsin leading to 450 workers losing their jobs – from happening anywhere else. Tammy is a proven fighter that working Wisconsinites can always count on to have in their corner and get the job done.

Championing Wisconsin Innovation

Tammy knows that Wisconsin isn’t called the Forward state for just any reason. From health care and manufacturing to our public universities and agricultural industry, Wisconsin is a national leader in whatever we do. That’s why last year, Tammy was proud to help pass the CHIPS and Science Act, which is providing historic investments in American manufacturing and regional technology hubs, all while creating new jobs across the country.

Recently, Tammy was proud to announce that Wisconsin was selected from hundreds of applications nationwide and has been officially designated as a regional technology hub. Tammy is especially excited about this announcement because when she was working on passing the CHIPS and Science Act, she spearheaded efforts to include the Tech Hub program in the landmark legislation through the Senate’s Commerce and Appropriations Committees. The Wisconsin Biohealth Tech Hub will focus on personalized medicine including specific cancer treatments, and will advance the state’s biohealth sector, create good-paying jobs, and strengthen supply chains. Tammy is always going to work hard to establish Wisconsin as a leader in whatever we do, including innovative medical care.

Cutting Costs for Wisconsin’s Rural Communities

Wisconsin is a proud rural state known for its world-class agriculture and the best workers in the country. Tammy knows that Wisconsin’s rural communities are the economic backbone of our state and is working hard to protect our agricultural industries, support our farmers and rural businesses, strengthen our infrastructure, and make sure that rural Wisconsinites’ voices are heard in Washington.

By supporting the Inflation Reduction Act, Tammy recently helped secure nearly $6 million in federal grants for Wisconsin rural businesses to lower energy costs. With these investments, rural businesses can make energy efficient upgrades in their businesses and invest this money right back into their businesses and workers. Tammy is always going to work hard to make sure our rural communities have the tools and resources they need to thrive for generations to come.
