Today, President Joe Biden announced that Michael Tyler will serve as Communications Director for the Biden-Harris 2024 reelection campaign. 

“Michael Tyler is an exceptionally talented leader and communications professional, with a deep well of political expertise and experience,” said Biden-Harris 2024 Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez. “We are so grateful to have him take on this critical leadership role as our campaign team continues to grow.”

Tyler is scheduled to start full-time on the campaign the first week of July.

Michael Tyler is an Atlanta native who most recently served as the Group Director for Public Affairs at the political and advertising firm SS&K. Prior to joining SS&K, Tyler helped found and oversaw messaging and content strategy for LeBron James’ political organization, More Than A Vote, during the 2020 presidential election cycle. More Than A Vote helped channel athletes’ activism into organizing efforts ahead of the election. Tyler also served previously as the deputy director of communications for Senator Cory Booker’s presidential bid and served as the Democratic National Committee’s National Press Secretary and Chief of Staff to DNC Chairman Tom Perez during the 2018 midterm cycle. Tyler also has statewide political communications experience in Georgia and Wisconsin, managing communications for the Atlanta City Council before serving as Press Secretary for Michelle Nunn’s 2014 Senate bid and as Communications  Director for Senator Russ Feingold.  Tyler is a graduate of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
