(MADISON, WI) – Today, the Climate Action Campaign announced that Senator Tammy Baldwin (WI) is a recipient of the second annual “Climate Change-Maker” award, granted to Members of Congress for their leadership on climate and clean energy over the past year, including championing efforts to advance federal action to cut climate pollution and defending climate progress in the face of persistent opposition in Congress. 

Senator Baldwin is recognized for her leadership in securing key federal investments through the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) in clean energy jobsenergy efficiencyelectric buses, green spaces, and coastal resilience. She is a staunch defender of the hard-fought climate wins secured through the IRA and a champion for Wisconsinites, including in delivering investments in climate-smart agriculture through the IRA to support Wisconsin farmers impacted by the climate crisis. She also played a critical role in securing funding for Wisconsin communities on the Great Lakes to help them prepare for the impacts of climate change including more extreme storms and flooding.

The prestigious Climate Change-Maker awards program was established by the Climate Action Campaign (CAC), a coalition of major national environment, environmental justice, and public health groups with state and local chapters across the country and over 20 organizations in Wisconsin.

Senator Baldwin is one of five recipients of the 2023 Climate Change-Maker Award. Other winners are Senator Jacky Rosen (NV), Representative Raúl Grijalva (AZ-07), Representative Summer Lee (PA-12), and Representative Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL).
