Milwaukee, WI – The Coalition to March on the RNC 2024 is planning a protest of the upcoming Republican presidential primary debate at the Fiserv Forum on August 23, 2023. We will be joined by Chrisley Carpio of the Tampa 5 who will be making a statement at the rally.

The protest will serve as a warm up for the March on the Republican National Convention (RNC) next July 15, 2024. On that first day of the RNC, thousands of protesters will rally and march through the streets of Milwaukee to oppose the reactionary Republican agenda. We plan to march to within sight and sound of the front doors of the convention center saying:

Stop the Republicans’ racist and reactionary agenda!

Defend Reproductive Rights!

Demand peace, justice, and equality!

The Coalition will be hosting a press conference regarding the debate protest on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 12 p.m. outside Turner Hall at 1040 Vel R. Phillips Avenue in downtown Milwaukee.

“The Republican Party and their presidential hopefuls currently represent the primary enemies of the working class and oppressed peoples all over this country and, truly, around the world,” said Omar Flores, Co-chair of the Coalition.

Flores continued, “Whether it’s former president Trump, who attempted to overthrow the last election and is now embroiled in several intense legal battles, or current Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a lawyer who oversaw the torture of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay, the field of Republican candidates is the worst of the worst.”

“We must be prepared to meet the racist and reactionary GOP whenever they decide to claim space in our cities,” said Tom Burke, a national spokesperson for the Coalition. “That’s why we’ll be taking the streets with hundreds of people on August 23, and once again with thousands on July 15 next year. We’re uniting the masses of people to fight back against the Republicans and to win.”

The Coalition to March on the RNC 2024 came together immediately following the announcement that Milwaukee will host the GOP. All are invited to join and participate in this family friendly rally and protest.
