MILWAUKEE – Today, Congresswoman Gwen Moore announced her endorsement of Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Pedro Colón’s campaign for Wisconsin Court of Appeals District 1.
“Judge Pedro Colón’s unwavering dedication to justice, vast legal experience, and demonstrated commitment to our community will make him an excellent addition to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals,” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore. “Over the last 25 years, I’ve witnessed Pedro’s dedication to justice for all Wisconsinites and I have full confidence that he will bring this same integrity, fairness, and diligence to the Court of Appeals. I’m delighted to endorse his candidacy and ready to get to work making sure we elect him.”

Judge Colón was appointed to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in 2010 by Governor Jim Doyle and has since been re-elected three times in 2011, 2017, and 2023 by the voters of Milwaukee County. He is currently serving as the Presiding Judge of the Civil Division. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Colón was the first Latino to be elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Wisconsin’s 8th Assembly District from 1999 to 2010.
Judge Colón is an active member of the community and currently serves as a board member of the Greater Milwaukee Foundation. He has previously served as a board member of the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage Commission and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Judge Colón attended Wisconsin Avenue Elementary School and is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School in Milwaukee, Marquette University, and the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he served as an assistant editor of the Wisconsin Law Review.
