EAU CLAIRE, Wisc. – Today, small business and nonprofit leader Rebecca Cooke, Democratic candidate for Congress in Wisconsin’s Third District, announced raising more than $200,000 in her first four weeks in the race.

Cooke’s surge of support comes from over 3,000 individual contributors –including more than 60 percent of whom live in Wisconsin– who agree: Derrick Van Orden belongs nowhere near Congress. Cooke continues to build upon her strong base from the 2022 primary, during which she won a majority of the district’s counties despite being significantly outspent.

“Time and again, Van Orden has shown his true colors as an out-of-touch bully prone to unhinged meltdowns. The people of western Wisconsin deserve better,” Cooke said Wednesday. “As the proud product of a working-class family, I am humbled by the incredible momentum building for our campaign focused on the future. I’m running for Congress to fight for our shared values, expand pathways to opportunity, and get things done for a change.”
