This week, President Biden and Vice President Harris announced their bid for reelection, highlighting their commitment to fighting for freedom in the face of MAGA Republicans who are trying to take us backward.

Here’s what they were reading on front pages across the country this week about the Biden-Harris reelection campaign:

Following the campaign launch, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and reelection Co-Chairs Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester and Congresswoman Veronica Escobar took to the airwaves across the country, touting President Biden’s and Vice President Harris’ record delivering for the American people and discussing the campaign’s efforts to engage voters in key states.

  • In Las Vegas, Nevada: Rep. Veronica Escobar on KSNV: “It is a critical state when you look at the electoral map, and so the campaign wants to make sure that we are reaching out to everybody, everywhere, but there are some states that are priorities for us like Nevada.”
  • In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester on WCAU:  “I think his actions actually make the case. … Everything from infrastructure and creating more jobs than we have seen, unemployment rate the lowest in 50 years, focusing on the PACT Act for our veterans.”
  • In Greenville, South Carolina: DNC Chair Jaime Harrison on WHNS: “Think about what this president has accomplished with a 50-50 United States Senate and under a five-seat majority in the House of Representatives. He’s created more than 12 million jobs; that’s more jobs in two years than any president has created in four. The lowest unemployment rate we’ve seen in 50 years.”
  • In Milwaukee, WisconsinDNC Chair Jaime Harrison on WISN: “You have seen how Wisconsin has not moved out of the eye of America – it’s the political storm in America. It is right there, front and center. It is a swing state, it is a big, big battleground state, and we’re going to invest a lot of time and resources in that state.”
  • In Reno, Nevada: Congresswoman Veronica Escobar on KTVN:“Nevadans are going to see a lot more ad buys, they’re going to see a lot of GOTV Get-Out-The-Vote activity, a lot of engagement with Nevadans.”
  • In Charleston, South Carolina: DNC Chair Jaime Harrison on WCBD: “South Carolina is special to the president, it’s special to the vice president … So we are going to make sure that we have the resources, that folks get an opportunity to hear from the president and the vice president, to hear about the vision that they have, about how they will continue to deliver for them and how they will continue to fight for them and their rights.”

On Tuesday evening in Washington, D.C., Vice President Harris continued leading the fight to protect reproductive freedoms, addressing students at her alma mater, Howard University, for the Fighting for Reproductive Rights rally.

Meanwhile, Republican presidential candidates Donald Trump and Nikki Haley made news in Virginia and New Hampshire, voicing their support for a federal abortion ban as the 2024 GOP field works overtime to out-MAGA each other. After Trump appointed three of the justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade and promised to sign a national abortion ban, the Republican field will stop at nothing to finish what he started and ban abortion nationwide.
