WISCONSIN STATE CAPITOL… The Disability Service Provider Network (DSPN) praises the actions by the Joint Committee on Finance to increase funding for Family Care providers. With the motion adopted by the committee, providers will realize the full benefit of rate increases established in 2021. The committee also endorsed additional investments in the Direct Care Workforce Fund. This fund allows providers to invest in high quality staff. The state investments total $88 million to continue the rate increase through June 2025 and an additional $15 million in the Direct Care Workforce Fund.
Combined with federal matching dollars, the committee’s investments total over $264 million in providers.
This renewed commitment to Family Care and Disability Service Providers will allow for additional wage increases for staff. Provider workforce capacity is directly tied to their ability to provide the full array of services to people with disabilities, and the highest quality of life they deserve.
“We will be very strong with this support and will be able to increase wages again.”
