Former Gov. Earl remembered as champion for the environment, equal rights

Politicos are remembering former Dem Gov. Tony Earl as a champion of the environment and equal rights, as well as a genuinely decent person.
Earl, who served as guv from 1983-87, passed away Thursday following a stroke. He was 86.
In 1982, then-Gov. Lee Sherman Dreyfus signed the nation's first state gay rights law. The following year, Earl created the Governor's Council on Lesbian and Gay Issues ...
