Franklin, WI –Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan service and advocacy organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in 29 states, applauds today’s decision of the United States Supreme Court which in an 8-1 decision, ruled that the Executive Branch of the Federal Government has the authority to set arrest and deportation priorities.

Forward Latino National President Darryl Morin issued the following statement:

“We applaud today’s decision by the U.S. Supreme Court and thank President Joe Biden for using his authority to focus our limited resources on arresting and deporting those few involved in criminal enterprises or who pose a risk to our communities. Every President since President Eisenhower has used this authority and frankly we were surprised when the State of Texas and Louisiana filed this suit challenging this well- established authority. In the words of Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh, “In Sum, the States have brought an extraordinarily unusual lawsuit.”
