Fitchburg Alders Jay Allen, Shanon Strassman, Jim Wheeler, and Dave Herbst are endorsing Council President Randy Udell to be Fitchburg’s next Mayor.

Former Mayor, former City Council President and current Alder Jay Allen, said “Fitchburg is a growing City.  Randy’s planning and financial skills, his knowledge of City government, and his ability to find common ground will be very important to make sure we grow responsibly. That is why he has my support to be our next Mayor.”

“Randy has demonstrated effective leadership as Alder and Council President,” said Alder Dave Herbst. “He has carried out his duties with professionalism and civility. At meetings, he always spends more time listening than talking and I appreciate his willingness to hear all sides of an issue before making a decision. He is the kind of leader we need as our next Mayor.

Added Alder Jim Wheeler, “Like all cities, Fitchburg faces challenges. As Council President and Chair of the Finance Committee, Randy has shown his ability to lead the Council in making tough decisions and moving forward. He has experience in finance, planning, and government. Those skills combined with his integrity and work ethic, will make him a great Mayor. I am proud to support him.”

Alder Shannon Strassman said, “Randy Udell has my endorsement and my vote. Randy is respectful to everyone and makes sure everyone’s voice is heard. After understanding the various viewpoints he hears, Randy is able to find common ground and help move us forward, together. He will be an exceptional Mayor.”

“It is an honor to have earned the trust and confidence of the majority of my colleagues on the Council,” said Udell. “They see my work as Alder and Council President on a day-to-day basis. Their trust and confidence that I am the best choice for Mayor means a great deal.”
