MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today announced his appointment of Carol Demko to serve as Florence County Register of Deeds. The appointment fills a vacancy created by the resignation of Laurie J. Boren, effective May 1, 2023. Demko will serve for the remainder of the unexpired term that ends on Jan. 5, 2025.
“After several years as deputy register of deeds, Carol Demko is well prepared to take on this next role,” said Gov. Evers. “We are grateful for her commitment in assuming this role to continue the important services provided by this office for the people of Florence County.”
Demko has resided in Florence County for the past 40 years. She has served as the deputy register of deeds in Florence County since 2018.
“I am very grateful to Governor Evers for the appointment as Florence County Register of Deeds. I am very humbled by his confidence in me and look forward to serving the citizens of Florence County,” said Demko. “I am indebted to our retiring register, Laurie Boren, for all her support, training, and wealth of knowledge that she has always been willing to share during my last four years as deputy register. I want to thank my family, friends, and colleagues for their encouragement, and I’m looking forward to the new challenges being Florence County Register of Deeds.”
