The GOP-controlled Joint Finance Committee today voted to put another $30.7 million aside to cover expected overtime costs for Wisconsin prison guards over the next two years.
But it put off addressing other pay proposals for correctional officers and staff.
As of May 1, nearly a third of all security positions, including prison guards, were vacant, according to the Legislative Fiscal Bureau.
