Milwaukee – Justice Daniel Kelly today announced the support of the Milwaukee Police Association in his campaign for the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

“Judicial activists like Janet Protasiewicz continue to return dangerous people back to society while law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to keep their communities safe.  The men and women of the Milwaukee Police Association know that we must not allow the Rule of Law to be replaced by the Rule of Janet,” Justice Kelly said.

“We need a Judge who will apply the law as written and not legislate from the bench. We need a judge who will work equally as hard to protect the rights of victims as much as he protects the rights of the accused. We know that this Judge Is Justice Dan Kelly. His track record shows that no matter his personal beliefs he will perform his duties and apply the laws as they were written,” MPA President Andrew Wagner said.

As a judge in Milwaukee County, Politician Protasiewicz made the following rulings:

  • No prison time for a 25-year-old man who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl. The only reason Politician Protasiewicz gave for this inexcusable sentence was “COVID.” The following year, the defendant killed a 17 year old woman in a drunk driving crash (WI v. Kenneth D Wright, Milwaukee County Case Number 2020CF001541)
  • No prison time for a man who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl (WI v. Anton Roosevelt Veasley, Milwaukee County Case Number 2020CF001889)
  • No prison time for a man convicted of sexually assaulting 3 girls. Later he was charged with felony sexual assault for re-offending against one of the same victims (WI v. Kenneth R Blair, Milwaukee County Case Number 2018CF006083)
  • Just 14 months in jail for a man who raped his unconscious cousin. During Sentencing, Judge Protasiewicz said nice things about the rapist, she didn’t think he was a danger to the public, and that the rapist was just taking advantage of an “opportunity.”  (WI v. Jovian N Reese, Milwaukee County Case Number 2018CF002852)
  • No prison for a woman who starved her 16-year-old son to death. The boy was so severely malnourished that he only weighed 42 pounds when he died (WI v. Iraida M Pizarro-Osorio, Milwaukee County Case Number 2019CF003997)
