Milwaukee – Today, former U.S. Senate Candidate Alex Lasry announced his candidacy for Democratic National Committee Representative from Wisconsin. Lasry is the first candidate to announce a bid to replace the seat being vacated by Khary Penebaker.

“I’m excited to announce my candidacy to represent Wisconsin on the Democratic National Committee,” said Lasry. “Over the past few years, Whether with the Milwaukee Bucks, running for the U.S. Senate or working to bring the Democratic National Convention to Wisconsin, I traveled across our state and saw first-hand how important local party leadership is to the success of our Democratic candidates. I’m running to ensure our local party leaders’ and activists’ often overlooked issues and concerns are lifted up front and center in our national party.”

“I was proud to run my senate campaign on strong, progressive values, and talked about the importance of having a unified Democratic party so that we could win up and down the ballot across the entire state,” continued Lasry. “We know in Wisconsin that every election matters. Whether it’s the April 4th election next month or 2024, where we will re-elect Senator Tammy Baldwin and President Joe Biden, we need a strong, unified Democratic Party to win.”

Alex Lasry is a Democratic Party activist and fundraiser, having served as finance chair for the 2020 Democratic National Convention before running for United States Senate in 2022. Alex lives in Milwaukee with his wife Lauren, Chief of Staff of Planned Parenthood Wisconsin, and their young daughter.
