The League of Wisconsin Municipalities doubles their government affairs team with the addition of a Government Affairs Specialist and is excited to announce the hire of Katie Scott.

Katie joins the League’s government relations team in representing the 605 cities and villages across Wisconsin. The League’s government relations team is committed to ensuring that all of Wisconsin’s communities are well represented within state government.

Katie Scott has extensive legislative experience, having worked in both the State Senate and the State Assembly. Katie was most recently the Policy Advisor/Chief of Staff for Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt. She is passionate about policy and government, and she loves making a positive difference in the lives of others.

When Wisconsin communities are strong and thriving, everyone in the state of Wisconsin benefits. The cities and villages of Wisconsin care deeply about ensuring they have growing and thriving communities. To do that, they need the proper tools and resources and representation at the state level to ensure that all Wisconsin communities have strong emergency medical services, fire departments, police, and more. Katie will be working diligently to assist the cities and villages in the fiscal reform effort to help them continue to prosper.

“Katie brings phenomenal skills and institutional knowledge to the League,” said Jerry Deschane, Executive Director for the League. “She is a trusted voice in the State Capitol and will be a powerful bridge-builder for the state and local partnership.”

The League’s government relations team now consists of Toni Herkert, Government Affairs Director, and Katie Scott, Government Affairs Specialist. These two women have in-depth, respected government experience, and they will be working on all things legislative at the state and local level.
