DeForest, WI –The Wisconsin Laborers’ Apprenticeship and Training Fund has hired Stephanie Moreno as its Assistant Apprenticeship Coordinator. Ms. Moreno will work with Wisconsin Laborers’ Apprenticeship Coordinator Ray Wiatt to help onboard, track, and support new and existing apprentices, administer apprenticeship testing, and provide Spanish language support. In addition, Ms. Moreno will work with Wisconsin Laborers’ Apprenticeship and Training Fund staff on outreach efforts at career fairs and other events promoting its registered apprenticeship program.
Ms. Moreno joins the Wisconsin Laborers’ Apprenticeship and Training Fund having spent the last eight years working in various positions for the Wisconsin Regional Training Partnership/Building Industry Group Skilled Trades Employment Program (WRTP/BIG STEP) where she most recently served as the South Central Region Lead Coordinator.
“I have spent my career helping develop programs to further advance opportunities for workers and in particular, I have helped make connections with our Spanish-speaking population to further develop career opportunities,” said Stephanie Moreno. “I look forward to helping mentor our union’s apprentices as they begin their LIUNA careers.”

Our registered apprenticeship program is at an all-time high, but we know that we need to continue to grow, and Stephanie will be a vital person in this effort,” said Kent Miller, President/Business Manager of the Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council.

The Wisconsin Laborers’ District Council is an affiliation of five Laborer local unions, representing nearly 9,000 construction craft laborers throughout Wisconsin. The Laborers are the most diverse trade in the construction industry servicing employers in transportation infrastructure, building, sewer and water, utility distribution, demolition, asbestos removal, and related sectors.
