Minocqua – Despite the Oneida County Zoning Committee’s recent vote to revoke the Minocqua Brewing Company’s operating permit, the Taproom remains open while the company appeals the decision to the county’s board of adjustment.
“We are not giving up and we are staying open,” said Kirk Bangstad, owner of the Minocqua Brewing Company. “Our lawyer will fight and win in court because the Town and County broke laws in attempting to shut us down, and we will fight and win in the court of public opinion because shutting picking fights with breweries in a state whose professional baseball team is named the ‘Brewers’ is pretty dumb.”
The Minocqua Brewing Company Taproom is located in a historic gas station at 329 Front Street in downtown Minocqua. It is open 11 AM–7:00 PM daily.
“We continue to call on the town and the county to END MINOCQUA’S WAR ON BEER,” Bangstad continued. “Downtown Minocqua is dying but the Minocqua Brewing Company is thriving. We believe we can be a key part of the renaissance of Minocqua, but we are just asking for a fair shake with the town and county.”
The Minocqua Brewing Company has become a strong progressive voice in Northern Wisconsin, drawing thousands of tourists from across the country to our historic taproom in downtown Minocqua.
