Liberal Janet Protasiewicz’s campaign released two new TV ads knocking conservative Supreme Court rival Daniel Kelly. Both call him an extremist.

The Protasiewicz campaign said the ads are part of its existing statewide buy of nearly $8 million that began during the primary and runs through the April 4 election. It’s now released four new ads this week.

One spot links Kelly to the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, former Justice Michael Gableman and the effort to present a slate of false electors for Donald Trump even though Joe Biden won Wisconsin in 2020.

The narrator says, “In Wisconsin, extremist Dan Kelly was the right-wing lawyer behind the scenes of it all.”

The narrator adds Kelly advised “Trump operatives” on seeking to overthrow the election results and “went on tour promoting the ‘Big Lie.'”

“On April 4th, vote like democracy depends on it,” the narrator says to close the spot. “Because it does.”

The narrator in the other ad calls Kelly and Protasiewicz candidates with “two very different beliefs.” Protasiewicz believes “women should have the freedom to make their own decisions on abortion,” while Kelly supports the state’s 1849 ban.

The narrator closes the spot, “So who represents you? An extremist? Or a common-sense judge?”
