Madison, WI – Today, NextGen PAC endorsed four ballot referendums and also announced their opposition to a statewide Welfare Advisory Question in Wisconsin. The four ballot referendums are regarding pro-choice abortion rights in Milwaukee, La Crosse, Eau Claire, and Dane Counties. NextGen PAC also endorsed a ‘no’ vote on the statewide Welfare Advisor Question, which would require individuals to look for work in order to receive taxpayer-funded welfare benefits.

NextGen is endorsing these ballot referendums because they will support reproductive justice and expand individual rights. Additionally, NextGen is urging Wisconsinites to vote ‘no’ on the Welfare Advisor Question as it would directly attack low-income people in the state.

“NextGen PAC is proud to endorse these initiatives in Wisconsin ahead of April’s election,” NextGen PAC President Cristina Tzintzún Ramirez said. “Young people are showing up like never before to protect their rights and fight for a progressive future. Whether it’s abortion rights or workers’ rights, young people are determined to fight back against MAGA Republicans who wish to take us back in time, and NextGen is here to support them every step of the way through education and engagement.”

In 2022, NextGen Wisconsin contacted thousands of young Wisconsin voters, helping lead the country to the second-largest midterm youth voter turnout in history. Leading up to this year’s Supreme Court election in Wisconsin, NextGen is focused on its innovative youth voter mobilization programming, which includes on-the-ground organizing and online calls to action.
