(Brookfield, WI) – The Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund political action committee (PAC) has endorsed Daniel Kelly’s candidacy for Wisconsin Supreme Court. Appointed by former Governor Walker to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2016, former Justice Kelly served for four years and is now seeking election to a ten-year term.
“Justice Kelly is the only candidate in this race with a proven record of judicial conservatism, and therefore the only candidate we trust,” said Matt Sande, Victory Fund PAC Director.
Daniel Kelly describes his judicial philosophy as ‘textual originalism,’ or a reading of our federal and state constitutions that strictly adheres to their text and historical meaning. He rules dispassionately by interpreting and applying the law as actually written – not according to his own policy preferences. He does not ‘reimagine’ our constitutions for modern times. He does not legislate from the bench.
“Justice Kelly’s intelligence, humility, fairness, and fidelity to the rule of law have served Wisconsin well,” said Sande. “His belief in the dignity of the human person makes him the only choice for pro-life voters. We are extremely proud to endorse him.”
Kelly graduated from Carroll College (now University) and Regent University School of Law, beginning his legal career as a law clerk for former Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Ralph Adam Fine. He went on to practice law in the private sector for twenty years, focusing on the protection of constitutional rights. Kelly is currently a Senior Fellow at the Institute for Reforming Government and resides in North Prairie with his wife Elisa and five children.
Daniel Kelly will compete in the Spring primary election on Tuesday, February 21. The Victory Fund PAC is urging Wisconsinites to get out to the polls on this critical primary election date and vote for Daniel Kelly. The top two vote-getting candidates will advance to the general election to be held on Tuesday, April 4.
