Dane County Supervisor Melissa Ratcliff will not run for re-election to the County Board (District 36). She has served on both the County Board and in the State Assembly since being elected to the State Legislature in November 2022. She will continue her public service as a member of the Assembly representing District 46.

“It is critically important that the people in Cottage Grove are represented on the County Board by someone who knows this community and cares deeply about its future,” Ratcliff said. “I served with David Peterson on the Village Board and know firsthand how skilled he is in making positive things happen for the people he serves. His record on the Village Board includes enhancing public safety, encouraging responsible growth, and listening respectfully to the voices of all our residents. He will be an outstanding Dane County Supervisor.”

Ratcliff, who served on the County Board since 2018, added, “It is a great honor, and I feel very fortunate, to be able to continue my work for Cottage Grove and surrounding communities as the State Representative for this area. I will miss my colleagues on the Dane County Board and the good work we did. I am excited about working with David as the new County Supervisor as we continue to make good things happen for the people we represent.”
