Madison, WI – State Representative Alex Dallman (R-Green Lake) released the following statement after the UW System Board of Regents took action on a negotiated deal between the legislature and UW System.

“I want to thank President Rothman for his leadership and good faith effort to come to an agreement with the legislature to put Wisconsin’s students and staff first,” said Rep. Dallman.

“After the UW System Board of Regents rejected the exact same deal last Saturday, I am glad to see that some Regents came back to the table and finally put the people of Wisconsin over politics and partisanship. The Board of Regents realized this deal is one that will return the UW System, its students, staff, faculty and campuses back on the track to success and not one that continues to indoctrinate students to only consider one point of view.

This funding deal will help better educate Wisconsin’s next generation of students to think critically and graduate more students in desperately needed positions such as nurses, engineers, and data scientists for years to come. It will also ensure that the best and brightest students Wisconsin has to offer can automatically be admitted to our UW System institutions.

I am proud of the deal that was negotiated between the legislature and the UW System and look forward to the positive impact this investment will have on our great state.”
