MADISON – Today, Assembly Representative Jacobson (D-Oregon) was assigned to the Speaker’s Task Force on Truancy. Representative Jacobson issued the following statement:
“I am honored to serve on the Speaker’s Task Force on Truancy. As a mother of school-aged children, I will ensure that children and their caregivers across the spectrum have the tools and support they need to succeed. Encouraging school attendance is just one way we can increase the development and success of our communities and the next generation.
“Together, we will work towards addressing our state’s truancy concerns. We must identify the root causes of truancy in our state and take a holistic view in addressing the needs of our students. By supporting parents, caregivers, and educators to reduce barriers to success, we can support our children and usher them into a state of continued wellbeing and prosperity.”
