MADISON – On Tuesday, June 13th, Assembly Representative Jacobson (D-Oregon) released the following remarks regarding the Gun Safety Coalition press conference Monday at the Capitol:

“As we heard yesterday, Wisconsin’s kids, our future, relies on common-sense gun safety bills. With universal background checks, extreme risk protection orders, and incentives for stronger storage, we move toward minimizing gun violence across our state.

“Passing these bills is the first step toward reducing gun deaths and stopping gun violence from being the number one killer of children. The majority of Wisconsinites agree that these methods are essential to decreasing gun violence.  Wisconsinites are calling for action. I’m proud to support these common sense bills and am calling upon my colleagues to schedule a hearing so that Wisconsinites have an opportunity to have their voices heard by their representatives.”
