MADISON – Representative Lisa Subeck (D-Madison) released the following statement in response to the recent announcement that Governor Tony Evers and 19 other governors are forming of a Reproductive Freedom Alliance. Members of the Alliance, led by California Governor Gavin Newsom, are committed to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom in their states and will work together to strengthen reproductive freedom in the face of an unprecedented assault on access to abortion and other reproductive health care services.

“Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, abortion services have been unavailable in Wisconsin. Coalitions like the Reproductive Freedom Alliance of Governors play a vital role in ensuring that Wisconsinites and residents of other states without abortion services will have somewhere to turn in the face of an unintended or untenable pregnancy,” said Rep. Subeck, “We should all have the freedom to make our own reproductive health care decisions without interference from politicians or activist judges. Thank you to Governor Evers and the 19 other governors for standing with us in the fight for our reproductive freedom and for working to ensure continued access to abortion care no matter where we may live.”

Rep. Subeck has represented the 78th Assembly District since 2015 and serves as Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
