Madison, Wisc. – Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) released the following statement regarding signing of the Shared Revenue Legislation:
“Today is a historic day for the state of Wisconsin as we invest an unprecedented amount in both our local municipalities and our kids. This package was a compromise negotiated with the Governor. In divided government we look for progress, not perfection. I am proud to have worked on this legislation, and to have voted yes to deliver results for the 88th Assembly District.”
“Today municipalities will receive much needed funding that will only grow over time,” said Rep Macco. “We are killing the Personal Property Tax which is a win for our small businesses, and strengthening support behind our first responders. Wisconsin’s future is bright with strong municipalities at the local level.”
“Our students need to be career and community ready, and they need to be able to go to wherever that child flourishes. That’s what we did today! By investing over $1 billion in additional funding for all schools, we provided parents with more opportunities to find their child’s perfect fit. No child is alike, and our school system should not be one size fits all. This investment is for the betterment of our kids, and Wisconsin’s future.”
