Madison— Representative Dave Maxey (R-New Berlin) released the following statement thanking the Milwaukee Police Department for their efforts at the Republican Primary Presidential Debate:

“Recently, a colleague of mine made negative comments about police officers that devalued their service. I am tired of waking up in the morning and seeing headlines that attack the brave men and women who protect and serve our communities,” said Rep. Maxey. “I would like to remind officers across the State of Wisconsin that you are valued for choosing this dignified career.”

“On Wednesday night, I had the honor of attending the Republican Primary Presidential Debate at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. I would like to give a special thank you to the Milwaukee Police Department and all of the officers who helped make this event safe and successful. Whether you were attending the event as a spectator, volunteer, or protester, everyone could feel safe.”

“When the Republican National Convention is held in Milwaukee next year, I know that we can count on the Milwaukee Police Department to do their part to make sure it’s safe and successful. There’s been talk from my colleague that the police are always bad, but the Milwaukee Police Department showed us just how wrong he is. Thank you, and keep up the great work.”
