MADISON – Representative Tip McGuire issued the following statement on Governor Evers’ State of the State address this evening:
“Tonight, Gov. Evers addressed the state, providing a positive vision for our shared future:
‘We need to bolster the middle class; we need to maintain our economy’s momentum; and we need to reduce barriers to work and recruit and retain talent to address our state’s workforce challenges.’
“Over the past four years, Gov. Evers has made billions of dollars of investments in working families and small businesses across the state to keep our Main Streets strong. As a result, we have entered into our strongest fiscal position in state history.
“I applaud Gov. Evers’s promise to deliver tax relief for working families without sacrificing essential investments in other priorities like public safety and education. This is a stark contrast to Republicans’ plan to provide massive tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires while leaving our small businesses, working families, and communities behind.”
