Washington D.C. – TOMORROW, March 9th at 10 AM ET, Congresswoman Moore, a member of the Ways and Means Committee, will hold a press conference to highlight the re-introduction of the Worker Relief and Credit Reform (WRCR) Act. Her legislation will enhance and modernize the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), reaching both younger and older workers and expanding the definition of work to make unpaid caregivers and low-income students eligible for the EITC.
Additionally, it would give those eligible the flexibility to receive most of the credit in monthly payments. The American Rescue Plan’s enhanced Child Tax Credit was powerful proof that tax credits in monthly sums can reduce hardship and provide greater financial stability to working families.
The WRCR Act would cut poverty and provide 21st century enhancements to the EITC. Its positive impact will uplift countless workers of her district, particularly the City of Milwaukee, where 24% of residents live below the poverty level.
WHAT: The Congresswoman will hold a press conference to discuss its impact and will be joined by Congressman Dwight Evans and Congresswoman Judy Chu, both original cosponsors of the WRCR Act, and advocates.
