MADISON, Wis. – Today, Legislative Democrats joined Governor Tony Evers, Lieutenant Governor Sara Rodriguez, and Dr. Kathy King to introduce legislation to Restore Roe in Wisconsin, repealing the 1849 abortion ban.
Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) released the following statement:
“Democrats have been clear since the beginning – we want to fully repeal our state’s criminal abortion ban. Wisconsinites deserve comprehensive access to reproductive healthcare.
“Unlike my Republican colleagues, Democrats are here to provide solutions for Wisconsinites and address the concerns we are hearing from folks in our communities – not use real challenges to score political points before an election.
“We must restore our freedoms in Wisconsin. We must restore Roe.”
