MADISON. Wis. – Today, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) announced that Legislative Republicans would be directly referring a redistricting bill to the Assembly Floor on Thursday. Assembly Democratic Leader Greta Neubauer (D-Racine) release the following statement:
“Legislative Republicans’ announcement today is an obvious attempt to distract from their efforts to impeach Justice Protasiewicz and undermine our democracy. No amount of hand waving will make the public forget the GOP is considering nullifying their votes and overriding the results of the last election.
“We know that Legislative Republicans cannot be trusted with redistricting. This rushed effort, devoid of any time for public input, further shows the GOP’s inability to engage in a serious conversation about this important issue.”
