MADISON, Wis. – This afternoon, the Wisconsin State Assembly held its inauguration ceremony at the
Wisconsin State Capitol for the 2023-24 Legislative Session. Assembly Democrats welcomed 8 new
members to their Caucus today.

“Inauguration Day is finally here – congratulations to all of my new and returning colleagues on their
elections to the Wisconsin State Legislature,” said Representative Supreme Moore Omokunde (D-
Milwaukee). “Even though I am starting my second term today, this was also my first in-person
inauguration at the State Capitol, so I felt new-ish! As in my first term, I promise to listen to you and
advocate for our shared values – let’s move Wisconsin FORWARD this year!”

In addition to offering congratulations, Representative Moore Omokunde also shared his committee
assignments for the 2023-24 Legislative Session.

“I am really looking forward to this renewed opportunity presented by this upcoming legislative
session. I am honored to serve as the Ranking Member of the Assembly Committee on Regulatory
Licensing Reform after a summer of deep dives into Wisconsin’s occupational licensing policies with
the Legislative Council Study Committee. Additionally, I am also excited to return to service on the
Energy and Utilities, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Prevention, and Transportation Committees.
Now enough with the announcements…let’s get to work!”

Representative Moore Omokunde represents the 17th Assembly District on the North and Northwest
sides of Milwaukee.
