“Republicans in the legislature have continued their destructive war on Wisconsin’s Transgender community by excluding gender affirming care from being paid for through Medicaid and by threatening to withhold shared revenue payments to Madison and Dane County because Dane County voted to be a Sanctuary for the Trans community.
Violence against our Trans neighbors is on the rise, fueled in part by hateful rhetoric and by policies that seek to marginalize Transgender people and undermine their rights. When Republicans take aim at the Transgender community and especially Trans youth, they show their true colors: this is not about protecting kids. It is about a regressive culture war waged to distract attention from the fact that the Republican Party has very few ideas or effective policy solutions to the challenges Wisconsin faces.”
