Madison – Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) issued the following statement after the new shared revenue plan was announced today:
“Today, I am proud to stand with my colleagues to announce a historic shared revenue plan that will invest in the local governments of the 67th Assembly District and the entire state.
“Our plan will devote 20% of state sales tax revenue to local governments and direct more than half a billion dollars in new money for local government innovation and public safety, including funding for law enforcement and EMS. Each local government will receive a minimum of a 10% increase in shared revenue.
“This proposal will ensure that our local governments continue to operate and provide necessary services that are critically important to our communities. It is a historic investment in our future.
