Madison – Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) was proud to vote yes on Assembly Bill 245 on the Assembly floor tonight.

“I am proud to vote yes on tonight’s landmark legislation. This bill makes historic investments in local government and focuses on public safety and innovation for the future,” Rep. Summerfield said. “This plan will especially benefit the local governments in the 67th Assembly District, and I am very excited to pass this bill.”

After months of discussions and consensus-building, Assembly Bill 245 presents the largest increase in shared revenue in state history. Every local government in the 67th Assembly District will receive a minimum of a 15% increase in shared revenue. The bill also includes an innovation grant fund, which will provide local governments with the opportunity to develop efficient solutions to the problems they face.

“Today, we are ensuring that local governments continue to operate and provide essential services of law enforcement and public safety,” said Rep. Summerfield. “I am proud to support this generational investment in my community.”
