MADISON, WI – State Representative Travis Tranel (R-Cuba City) released a statement regarding meeting with Energizer officials to discuss the Fennimore plant and plans to close in fall 2024.
“We were able to speak directly with Energizer officials. We conveyed to them our severe disappointment in their decision to close the Fennimore plant. They assured us labor and labor costs had nothing to do with their decision and that it was based primarily on the cost of transporting goods. We asked them if they could be more transparent with their communication. We would like them to be better community partners, and ultimately, make sure that the good employees that work there are able to find sustainable employment in the future.”
